Maria Sosa is a senior project director in the AAAS Directorate for Education and Human Resources Program. She works on projects related to libraries, literacy, and STEM education resources. She is the editor-in-chief of the review journal Science Books & Films (SB&F) and has published a number of books and articles relating to the selection and review of exemplary STEM educational resources. She also administers the AAAS/Subaru SB&F Prize for Excellence in Science Books, which recognize the best science books written for children and young adults. Sosa has served as principal investigator for a number of NIH-funded programs that relate to science literacy and communication, including The Science Inside series that has published a series of plain language booklets on important science topics that disproportionately affect minority communities. Sosa is also a member of the Science NetLinks content team.
